About Us

Greater Manchester (GM).Digital, formerly named CAMHS.Digital, is a research unit in the Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (GMMH). We aim to develop digital technologies to improve mental health and wellbeing. We are affiliated to the Centre for Women’s Mental Health (CWMH) at the University of Manchester, where we aim to create the missing digital elements of CWMH work, which focuses on developing and delivering interventions to provide better outcomes for children, young people and adults experiencing serious mental illness. By using innovative digital technologies, we hope that these tools will become more accessible and acceptable, and that this support will be able to help larger groups of people over the coming years.

In order to make this happen, we are working with a range of outstanding academic, clinical and industry partners, ensuring that we have the expertise needed in all areas. We also want to utilise the expertise of children and young people themselves, to make sure that the technologies and tools developed are effective for the people who will be using them. Therefore, GM.Digital aims to make sure that the views and knowledge of children and young people are central to all of our work, and that they play a huge role in co-designing and directing the research.
